10 Months, 1 Week Old

Our little guy in Korea is 10 months, 1 week old. This is the exact age DW was when we met him for the first time and when he became part of our family. Here is a picture of DW from the second time we met him in Korea. This was the first time he smiled at us.

We hope to get updated pictures of HJ within the next few weeks. I'm not sure when our social worker returns from Korea. I still can't post pictures of him on the blog since we haven't signed the official documents yet saying he's ours. It's sad knowing the milestones we are missing, but we're thankful that little HJ is with a loving foster family. Our home study report was written this week and sent to the adoption agency for review and approval. We hope to hear next week that it has been approved. We are still probably 4 - 8 months away from meeting HJ.

We also recently mailed a grant application to the adoption agency. Within the next few weeks, a committee will meet, review our information, and then decide whether or not to award us a grant to help with the adoption fees. This grant could be up to $3,000, and we wouldn't have to pay it back, so please pray that the committee would read our story and feel led to award a grant to us. It would really help with all the expenses!
