The Long Flight to Korea

We left Arkansas early on Thursday morning. Saying goodbye to DW was hard, but luckily he didn't cry, so we didn't either. :) Our flight to Dallas was uneventful and short. We had a layover in Dallas, and we were able to see our friend MJ from a distance. She was dropping her mom off at the airport,and we waved to her across the security area and talked on our cell phones. We left Dallas around noon for a long 14 hour flight on Korean Air. Each seat had an individual entertainment system, so Tim and I watched a lot of movies. You could also follow the flight path, so we could see when we were over different countries. We flew up to Alaska and over through the edge of Russia, then over Japan, and then to South Korea. We ate bibimbap (Korean mixed rice) on the plane, and they fed us lots of snacks. Korean Air is amazing. The flight attendants are so attentive and polite. We arrived at the Incheon Airport in South Korea on Friday, Sept. 24 around 4:30 PM. Korea is 14 hours ahead of CST. MJ's mom was kind enough to stay with us through immigration and customs, and helped us find the right airport shuttle. Thank goodness we had a friend who spoke Korean! We took an hour shuttle ride to Seoul, then a short taxi drive to Social Welfare Society's Guesthouse (the adoption agency). By that point, it was around 7 PM, we were exhausted, and we went right to bed. Thank you for your prayers - we had very little turbulence, all flights were on time, no lost luggage, and we easily made it to our guesthouse.
